Depends. If you’re using it to serve media to your Rokus, smart TV’s, mobile devices, etc., then obviously it needs to stay on.
Windows 10 has the ability to wake a computer to run a scheduled task. That’s cool, and a little creepy. The only way to guarantee your computer stays off is to unplug it. OTOH, it will scan itself for viruses in the middle of the night and shut itself back off. That’s a good thing, depending on your POV.
I run Linux, and have my hardware set to run as efficiently as possible. I also run backups and serve media, so my computer may run for months at a time.
One thing’s for sure: your screen doesn’t need to be involved. Set it to turn off after a reasonable amount of time.
